Just Take the Step
All it takes is a step, then another and another, until momentum takes over and propels you forward. The steps we don’t take are the ones we regret. Just take the step. Don’t worry or fret. Our paths, like our steps, always lead to the next. Billions of us on journeys with paths that intersect Plan all you want. At some point you’ll see what happens in life might be destiny.
“The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars / But in ourselves, that we are underlings.” (Julius Caesar, Act I, Scene III, L. 140-141).
Cassius in The Tragedy of Julius Caesar, Act I, Scene III, L. 140-141
Walking is one of the greatest gifts we have. It would be a shame not to enjoy the journey. Stay well Crystal. Allan

I love going for a walk everyday with my dog. I enjoy that time so much. Literally it ( taking steps) are easier to do but figuratively I can hesitate. Just take the step don’t worry or fret – I need to apply that a bit more.

We all hesitate. I almost didn’t go for my walk this morning, but I’m glad I did.

Oh yes, we are underlings. Every last one of us. I have that as one of my blog tags, in fact.

I used to enjoy going for long walks, until the day my knees said, “That’s enough.”

I love walking, as it is so refreshing to get outdoors and pray. But I don’t do enough of it. I sit at a desk for 9 hours a day and drive in the car for 2 hours a day. I need to get creative and find ways to squeeze in some steps. Thanks for the nudge! And I like the poem!

Until a couple of years ago, I walked an average of 10,000 to 12,000 steps a day, most on my late-afternoon walk, but age and bad knees have slowed me down considerably. But I’ll never stop as long as I’m able. Besides the benefits to one’s physical health, it’s a great mood elevator.

That’s a lot of steps. I’m happy you’re still able. 30-minutes a day makes a huge difference in my mood. Thanks for visiting, KT!

Love starting the day with a long walk! Gives me time to sort through my day and arrange the steps so to speak! C

Me, too. (And to walk off last night’s dinner and otherwise ridiculous calories).

That poem was absolutely beautiful. ❤
I don't walk nearly enough, but after my son spending almost the entire first month of his young life in the hospital so far, I want to walk a million miles with him in the warm Texas summer once he is released.

I’m believing that with you Lauren. Real steps are good. But when you’re overwhelmed, just take the next step. Just keep going. Sending love.

Taking steps is a significant part of life. We may be moving and walking to keep our physical bodies in shape. At the same time, our life makes steps in our spiritual journey.

Yes. Keep moving forward metaphorically, in reality, in spirituality. Onward.
