This Too Shall…

Look up. See the sunbeam?

The depths
of the ocean
stir the depths
of my thoughts.

The waves
come and go
like the sun
and moon,
the inhale
and exhale

and now.

Cancun, March 2024

  1. I loved the video. Something about waves on the shore. The coming and goings is so pure. Beautiful poetry. It was a nice pairing.

Whoa… who is this Joy Oladokun? And why have I not heard of her before? I watched a few additional videos of her. She is pretty amazing. Thanks for the introduction

    1. Thank you so much. The comings and goings of life make me think. Like that time last fall when I wandered into a music festival and found Joy Oladokun. The festival, the performance, like the waves—exhilarating, then gone. She IS amazing!!

    1. All good things come to an end. Cancun was beautiful! Sad it’s over, but happy for the experience. Then another trip unexpectedly fell into my lap—coming soon. So thankful for this time off to seize my days! ❤️

      1. You go, girl! I’m looking forward to an upcoming trip to the Wisconsin Dells with my family (including our 10 year old grandson). Excited to play in the water (indoors!)

  2. What a nice getaway—sorry to hear Kody was sick—the ocean is always so therapeutic!!
We’re trying to get to Denver to see Tommy Tiger on Saturday morning. Weather tells us they’ve had the worst snowstorm in history there! Thomas said Windsor didn’t get as much, but the foothills were absolutely getting slammed. How wonderful for all the spring snow borders.
    Love to all 💚💛🧡❤️🩷🩵💙💜🩶🤎🤍

  3. So good, Crystal. We lived in FL 40 years and I never thought of the waves breathing in and out–but they do! And their constancy reminds me: My God is also with me–constantly–and he breathes on me too with his peace.“The Spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the Almighty gives me life.” – Job 33:4.

    1. Hi Nancy! I appreciate your addendum. The waves, like the breath of the Almighty, give me life. This message meets me in divine timing. Thank you, and thanks for the scripture.

  4. Marvelous, Crystal! Beach strolling provides superb therapy, no matter what ails or exults you. Particularly so your stretch of Cancun oceanfront.

The spiritual vastness and the dependable rhythm, usually soothing and always foretold, balm the soul. All on the most global of scales, yet the tiny and day-hidden moon holds sway. Literally. Something leading even the uncontemplative to contemplate.

Oh, and as mentioned on IG, those thousand sapphires mesmerize!

    1. Hi Linda! While living near the Texas coast these last 8 years, I’ve had lots of chances to contemplate the waves. The color doesn’t compare to the Caribbean, but it’s all seawater. The sounds are consistent, sometimes gentle and sometimes more dramatic.
