After my morning walk with Rosa on Wednesday, she took me on a field trip to Houston’s Original Farmers Market, Houston’s oldest and the largest in the state of Texas.
Look at them punkins. It’s Fall, Y’all.
From the market, we crossed the street and indulged in pastries from El Bolillo Bakery, all before 9 a.m.
Thank you for sharing your adventure!!… 🙂 “Life gives us brief moments with another, but sometimes in those brief moments we get memories that last a lifetime, So live that your memories will be part of your happiness.” (Author Unknown).
We were there so early it wasn’t entirely open. I suppose that means I have to go back. Staying masked up and well here. Thank you, Allan! Hope all is well in your world.
Just your description alone overwhelms, Crystal. Then, when you supplement it with those great photos, all those stunning colors, total sensory overload!
It’s experiences like yours that make me willing to brave the traffic, (nonexistent) parking and the crowds to venture into the central city wholesaler/farmers’/produce markets.
Plus, Crystal, big surprise here, I love the foodie-forward subject matter!
Thank you so much, Keith. I tried my first tamarind and had a slice of papaya while there. Totally worth braving the traffic (and in my recent experiences, traffic isn’t what it used to be).

Hi Crystal. Hi Rosa. I gained three pounds and got two cavities just looking at the pastry. Wow! Have a great day. Jerry

I thought I was just headed for a walk, so I didn’t have any $ on me. I might have to go back for some pumpkins. They were impressive!

I’m kind of craving one of those pastries all over again. Mine had cream cheese.
