I can’t begin to explain this week. Right now it sounds like—and then _____ and then _____ and then _____ , but I don’t have any conclusions. Nobody wants to read a story without a conclusion.
And then, this morning started with a peacock at my house. Life is stranger than fiction.

Happy weekend, everybody!
A peacock in town. He most belong to someone. I wonder where the peahen is?

My neighbors mentioned peacocks in the neighborhood a month or two ago. This was my first sighting. He was going it alone.

My babysitter had one when I was a kid. Loudest bird I’ve ever heard!

Well he certainly is gorgeous. Surely something this awesome is an omen of good luck.

Isn’t he? I love your interpretation.

Isn’t he pretty? I heard they can be a big nuisance, too, but it doesn’t look like this solitary bird is a nuisance.

Elegant, closed-lipped, and unbothered by my stalking.

LOL I can absolutely relate. Peacocks are gorgeous but if you haven’t heard by now they are super noisy 😬. I hope your new friend finds his way home and your week this next week are amazing

Someone must be taking care of him and others. I’ve heard about them, just rumors until now.

Just out for a strut around the neighborhood. I hope he made it home.

That is a lovely surprise! Hopefully he leaves a few feathers for you. At one point, when I was a child, a neighbor had a peacock. Seemed risky with so many coyotes running around.

I’ll be keeping my eye out for those feathers.

HGey there Crystal, I read that one of Elvis’s favorite jumpsuits had a peacock on it. Can you dig it! Jerry

Breathtaking, Crystal! I mean, can you imagine a sight like this adding a thrilling shimmer to spring’s renaissance? Actually, you can, and you’ve shared it with all of us.
What is it with you and birds? First, your mother popped in to see you, as a cardinal. Next, she sends this gorgeous emissary. She definitely is gifting you with some seriously awesome bird vives.
How else can you explain the peacock trusting you so? Maybe he belongs to someone – or, rather, someone belongs to him – but still, you’ve been given a VIP Pass. I’m calling heavenly intervention on this one.

He is a pretty, pretty bird who probably knows it. The last unusual bird I saw around here was a hawk. Not the same vibe at all!

😂 His strut shows he definitely knows. Different vibe, but this one will never soar.

Do you live near a farm? I see in your response to hbsuefred above, you’ve also spied a rooster and hen. If I lived in your neighborhood I’d be checking my windows all the time for what might wander by next. Great photos of the peacock, btw. I’m amazed he let you get so close!

No. I live in Houston, but I’m new-ish here. I hear there are quite a few around, but this was my first sighting. I was out walking yesterday evening and saw another one or maybe the same one?

I had a dream about a peacock last night and I think it was from reading your post last night!
Thinking of you today, my educator friend. I hope that you and your students were able to fortify each other today, yet another “day after” 😢💙

Thank you, Tiger Lily! A sad day today, the last classes for my seniors, and they have graduation on their mind. No one wanted to talk about it. Are we all desensitized?
