And It Ended with a Peacock

I can’t begin to explain this week. Right now it sounds like—and then _____ and then _____ and then _____ , but I don’t have any conclusions. Nobody wants to read a story without a conclusion.

And then, this morning started with a peacock at my house. Life is stranger than fiction.

Happy weekend, everybody!

  1. LOL I can absolutely relate. Peacocks are gorgeous but if you haven’t heard by now they are super noisy 😬. I hope your new friend finds his way home and your week this next week are amazing

  2. That is a lovely surprise! Hopefully he leaves a few feathers for you. At one point, when I was a child, a neighbor had a peacock. Seemed risky with so many coyotes running around.

  3. Breathtaking, Crystal! I mean, can you imagine a sight like this adding a thrilling shimmer to spring’s renaissance? Actually, you can, and you’ve shared it with all of us.

What is it with you and birds? First, your mother popped in to see you, as a cardinal. Next, she sends this gorgeous emissary. She definitely is gifting you with some seriously awesome bird vives.

How else can you explain the peacock trusting you so? Maybe he belongs to someone – or, rather, someone belongs to him – but still, you’ve been given a VIP Pass. I’m calling heavenly intervention on this one.

  4. Thank you for sharing!!.. a story you will be able to share with the kids in the future!.. “Life gives us brief moments with another, but sometimes in those brief moments we get memories that last a lifetime, So live that your memories will be part of your happiness.” (Author Unknown)… 🙂

    Until we meet again..
May love and laughter light your days,
and warm your heart and home.
May good and faithful friends be yours,
    wherever you may roam.
May peace and plenty bless your world
    with joy that long endures.
    May all life’s passing seasons
bring the best to you and yours!

  5. Do you live near a farm? I see in your response to hbsuefred above, you’ve also spied a rooster and hen. If I lived in your neighborhood I’d be checking my windows all the time for what might wander by next. Great photos of the peacock, btw. I’m amazed he let you get so close!

  6. I had a dream about a peacock last night and I think it was from reading your post last night!
Thinking of you today, my educator friend. I hope that you and your students were able to fortify each other today, yet another “day after” 😢💙
