Thank You, WordPress!

Four years ago, the rain fell by the gallon…I found my way to WordPress and tapped out my first post.

Thank you, dear reader, for inspiring me to keep laying down my words…to make sense out of chaos and something out of nothing. May you notice the good in the world today. 🤍

  1. Thank you for sharing!!.. “Life gives us brief moments with another, but sometimes in those brief moments we get memories that last a lifetime, So live that your memories will be part of your happiness.” (Author Unknown)… hope that as you follow life’s path you will gather many more memories of happiness!!… 🙂

    Until we meet again..
May the love that you give
    Always return to you,
That family and friends are many
    And always remain true,
May your mind only know peace
    No suffering or strife,
May your spirit only know love and happiness
    On your journey through life.

  2. Thank you for sharing your first post with us. I am so sorry to hear about the devastating flood you had to deal with. I love the tag line you used in the post and in your blog name “Faith + Gratitude = Peace + Hope.” Priceless! And Happy Anniversary. I am glad you are here. Your blog has been an inspiration to me.

    1. Thank you, Bridget! My mother always said, “Everything happens for a reason.” I never understood the reason until I lost some things and lived in a hotel for awhile. Now I get it: the struggles strengthen us. And things are just things.

      1. I think you have to give yourself a break as you resume your classes and memorize all those names. The mind is at capacity! In September I used to lean towards stories about new shoes, sharpened pencils, classroom shenanigans, maybe a little Aristotelian models of learning. Bahaha, sometimes I took a month off of writing and just survived! Be good to you! C

  3. Good job, Crystal. Funny thing, that – you first came here seeking comfort, and now you provide it. In abundance.

Once, you were an importer, and now you’re a major exporter. WordPress selected its laurels carefully. Maybe not all of WordPress’s decisions lately have been worth celebration, but this one certainly is.

Oh, a technical question, namely, how did WP send its recognition, via phone text, or by email? You aren’t the first person I know whom WP has cited recently, yet my own fifth anniversary came and went last month with nary a peep. Of course, honors likely are reserved for those with, you know, an audience…

    1. Congrats on five years, Keith! I’m your audience, and I appreciate you for your consistent friendship here!

I almost missed my own anniversary, but it showed up in my notifications on my WordPress phone app. I took a screenshot.

  4. I love the phrase: “to make sense out of chaos and something out of nothing.” I guess that is indeed all we do everyday. We make meaning. Some of it makes us feel good some of it makes us feel bad. Some of it helps us in our interaction with the world some of it hurts us. In the end, all we do is make meaning. Thanks for reminding me of this today. But more importantly, congratulations on your anniversary!

    1. Hello Darren and thank you so much! One of the writing lessons I learned in school was not to write like this: this happened, and then this happened, and then this happened…because who cares? There must be something deeper. I’m sure I don’t always pull it off, but I try.
