Prayer, thanksgiving 1 Minute

It’s me, Crystal. Today is Thanksgiving. I want to be thankful, but I’m so scared, God. So many people in my life are sick, and some of my relationships need your help. Suppose my friends and family suffer? Suppose we all can’t call a truce? Please help me find joy despite circumstances, God. Don’t let today be too horrible. Thank you.

Thank you for sharing!.. while the universe knows I am not into religion, I believe there is a saying “God promised you a safe landing, he did not day the journey would be a smooth one”… when life puts challenges in my path, I often follow the advice of Mr. Bennett “Don’t be pushed around by the fears in your mind. Be led by the dreams in your heart.” ( Roy T. Bennett)… 🙂

  20. Adding my hopes and wishes to the others’, Crystal, albeit a bit later. So far, the Almighty has illuminated your path, allowing you to recognize personal resources you may not have seen otherwise. Would that your light continue to shine, both in present darkness and beyond, when it will supply not just vision, but warmth.

    That is tough news about your mother. Hopes she will weather this as she has so many other challenges.

    You know, despite our wading into middle age ourselves, part of us still doesn’t want to believe our parents are mortal. A comfort that sustains us when all else, it seems, doesn’t. Yet, speaking personally, of my Dad’s cancer, it’s precisely at such moments you realize your connection to them draws not just from the present moment, but from all they’ve given you over the decades. From what will be too, both now and whatever is next. The present troubles flit by, while that which was, and that which will be, fills our hearts.

    1. Thank you, Keith. You always have beautiful words. We’re all mortal. I know. COVID is affecting the families of everyone in my close circle of friends. My biggest prayer for my mom, and my dad, and so many, is for peace and comfort.

  21. My go to prayer, I call this the “helpmehelpmehelpme” prayer and I love knowing God hears and understands.
